'Manchester Tan was released by one aspirational household paint company as the 'must have' colour of 2025. While it reportedly took its inspiration from the Victorian sandstone of the city's architecture, it also could be interpreted as referencing the fake tan popular with young men and women at the time.

 

The house has been a recurring vehicle in my practice, the architectural embodiment of the self, the seat of decay and restoration, the base from which we move out into time and space. The installation of works under this title accompany a short film of the same name, a speculative fabulation where a smart paint is used for both walls and skin, merging the woman with the house and ultimately the cosmos itself.
